Another addition to my Indie list : Bon Iver
It's been really long since I made my last post. Part laziness, part circumstances.
Okay! Without any further lame sentences to make an intro, I come straight to the point. This post is about is about an Indie folk band – Bon Iver.
Founded by American songwriter, Justin Vernon, in 2007. For Emma, Forever Ago, Bon Iver's debut album was released independently the same year. It is a beautiful album! And made Vernon earn his cult.
Bon Iver won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album for their second studio album – Bon Iver.
Band has derived its name from the French phrase bon hiver, ie, good winter.
Songs I like from For Emma, Forever Ago:
· Flume
· Skinny Love
· For Emma
And from Bon Iver:
· Calgary
· Holocene – my fave video, on Iceland
· Minnesota
In the words of Vernon, “Each song on the album (Bon Iver) is named after or represents a place”
To be honest, each and every song from both the albums is very different and beautiful. Dont think twice in investing in both!
xx

John Lennon's Top 10 Albums & Singles
Thirty-one years after the death of John Lennon, Billboard takes a look at the icon's top 10 albums and singles on the Billboard charts.
In one of the most bittersweet moments in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, John Lennon's joyful single "(Just Like) Starting Over" from the album "Double Fantasy" debuted on the chart and rose to No. 1 just as fans worldwide reeled from the death of the artist on December 8, 1980. The song spent five weeks atop the Hot 100 and ranks as the most successful of Lennon's songs on that chart.
"Woman," also from "Double Fantasy," ranks just below it on this exclusive Hot 100 recap of Lennon's top 10 solo hits. It spent three weeks at No. 2 on the chart.
"Double Fantasy" is No. 1 on our exclusive Billboard 200 recap. The Geffen Records album spent eight weeks at No. 1 after its chart debut on Dec. 6, 1980, on that chart. "Imagine" and "Walls and Bridges," which both hit No. 1, rank No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Lennon's top 10 Hot 100 hits list is based on actual performance on the weekly Hot 100 chart. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least. Lennon's top albums are ranked by peak position on the Billboard 200. If more than one title peaked at the same position, ties were broken by the number of weeks spent at the peak. If ties still remained, they were broken by the number of weeks on the chart, and then in the top 10 and/or the top 40, depending on where the title peaked.

Stripped
Stripped - Originally by the legends - Depeche Mode.
Insane composition & dark lyrics. Released in 1986, written by Martin Gore.
Another version by Rammstein. They are the kings of their genre - Neue Deutsche Härte (new German hardness). Totally raw!
New version by Shiny Toy Guns. And boy! they have covered this pretty well. Truely Gothic Electro.
M assuming, few more artists/bands must have covered it too.
My personal fave is STG one.
